Who am I?

Thank you for finding your way here. I am a multidisciplinary musician, performer and activist, who believes in the power of words and music to open pathways of empathy between people.

My Mission . . .

Music is a handy little thing. I believe that we evolved making music because it is the most direct route to empathy and connection. Like a neural shortcut.

When listen, we are having a shared emotional experience. And depending on how hard we listen, this can be a profound moment. It can reinforce our emotional commonalities – make us acutely aware that we are fundamentally bundles of nerves. And we need to be careful with each other.

That is why I tell personal stories through music. That is why I collaborate with people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+, First Nations, and other diverse people, to play whatever part I can in sharing their important stories.

Because I believe that music can help us understand ourselves, and each other, a little better.

My work is diverse and across many fields: from comedy to concert music, but I like to think it is bound by vulnerable and honest storytelling, finding shared experiences, and validating experiences.

I would love for you to listen – and if you want to take the next step, join me on this journey.

Be part of my journey.

Fanfare now being tested in the Sydney Opera House

Hello all! After having gone over to Sydney on the 30th of September, 2014, for the official Sydney Opera House Fanfare Listening Party, I can confirm that the sound system works, and my fanfare (along with 7 others by some very talented young Australian composers) is undergoing a period of testing to see if it will work to herald audiences into the theatre. My fingers are firmly crossed for this one!

If you'd like to read more about the fanfare competition, head over to my fanfare page.
